Adoption Links - A Request

I presented at an Intro to Adopt Seminar tonight and as usual suggested to the attendees that they seek out the recent BTDT crowd as a good way to collect info about the current state of IA programs in particular. So where are you in the online world, what sites/groups do you belong to or where have you visited to collect information. In particular, I would love to get a reasonably comprehensive list of yahoo groups together but any good place to get info would be a welcome addition.

Three ways to get me the info:

  1. Post as a comment here.
  2. Post on the thread in the Forum
  3. Send me an e-mail (windthrow@adopttalkcanada.com)

List of Links

Yahoo, Ethiopia, Canada

RQ Blog/Forum, China+, Multi Country

Another favorite blog - Harlow’s Monkey

I just added a link to another blog I like (see sidebar). Her most recent post is directed at adoptive parents that are adopting transracially and makes for very interesting reading.

If you look, there are no shortage of “angry adoptees” out there. I wouldn’t classify this blogger as one of them, but she definitely presents a view of trans-racial adoption from the adoptee perspective that is valuable for all adoptive parents to hear.

My favorite blogs

Over time I will add some links to adoption related blogs that I like (see link to the right in the “blogroll”). Some are more intense then others, but I thought I would start with the one that is the most fun. Her writing is impressive and while always done in a light hearted way I think any new parent, adoptive or otherwise, could learn a lot from what she says.

If you are interested in what the adoption trip to China is like start right at the beginning and you will be educated and highly amused I think.

If you want to know what life is like with a toddler then start with the April 28th post.

Cheers and happy reading.
